We will be breaking into groups to look at the various branches of Buddhism that exist. You will share your work with your peers, and everyone will be responsible for learning the "basic facts" for each branch. So make sure your work is right!
The branches (will be assigned by Ms. Harris):
- Theraveda Buddhism
- Mahayana Buddhism
- Vajrayana
- Zen
- Nichiren
- Pureland
The basic facts that you will want to include:
- where your branch is typically practiced
- when it was created
- major scriptures followed
- 2-3 practices unique to that branch

- A powerpoint
- A comic strip
Have fun. We will have two days in class to work on this, and you will present the information in class next week.
