Extra Credit Opportunity for World Religions! This weekend only.

Some of our Jordan students attend the Sikh Gurudwara of Durham, and they are having an open house/bring-a-friend event this Sunday. As a result, there is some extra credit for you!

Option A: Attend the openhouse (see information below) and write a 1 page (double-spaced) reflection on the experience. Be sure to include specific details so that I know you were there. What did you do while you were there? What values or beliefs were expressed in the statements, actions, and set-up of the Gurudwara? We haven't studied Sikhism yet, so this will be a great introduction to the religion.

Option B: Using the SikhiWiki, read about the ten Gurus in Sikhism (there are actually 11, but we are focusing on the 10 human ones). Choose one of them to read more about and create a mini-poster highlighting that one. The poster should include at least one key story from their life, the years they lived, how they changed/developed Sikhism, and a slogan to help remember them. Remember posters should be appealing to the viewer (to draw them in) and accurate (to teach them something).

Either option is due Tuesday 10/14 at the start of class and will be worth 5-10 points on the test you just took, depending on the quality of your efforts.
